		<description>I would tend to want to agree with you, but Linux is probably one of the best for the &quot;average&quot; user that just wants to use the Internet and check email. 

Out of the box Linux (Ubuntu at least) has Firefox, IM, and an office suite. A lot of average users only need a web connection. I can install all the browser plugins needed without every going to a command line now too. 

My dad has been using Linux for Internet/Email use only for quite awhile now. I just gave Linux to my uncle (a previous AOL user) and he is able to use all the sites that he likes.

Linux is so much quicker to set up (getting a base set of apps on it) compared to getting a roughly equivalent setup on Windows. I can&#039;t say much about Mac OS X, but it doesn&#039;t seem to come with an office suite by default.

Finally, viruses and spyware on Windows still happen way too much.</description>
