Yesterday I went to the ACM programming contest, where our team placed 3rd. However, prior to the contest, subs from Subway were provided. Being absolutly starving, I figured I should eat one regardless of what fun ingredients it had. It turned out to be chock full of mayo and salami and I’m sure white flour. After eating, I immediatly could feel my body going into shock, what is this stuff!?! I felt pretty lethargic and sick after eating it, so I’m going to avoid getting in situations like that again (keeping some snacks in my car).

Peace and chow,

Ranok

  1. FYI,

Yeah, that’s pretty much how I feel when I eat it too. Some say that those that are gluten intolerant might simply be the “yellow canaries” of the greater population. I don’t personally prescribe to that theory fully, but I don’t denounce the possibility either. Gluten is a very complicated protein to digest. Not to mention, processed white flour is the byproduct of taking out all the good things out of the grain, and enormously increasing the percentage of the bad parts. So, you just got a googol of gluten and crud and almost no real beneficial nutritional value. Sorry to hear you didn’t feel well, but I’m glad to hear that you’ve gotten your body to reject many years of training it to eat terrible things. Now that you’re no longer taking the maintenance dosage of those things you’ll definitely react to them noticeably.
